| Guapinol
is a rural village situated amongst African Palm Fields at the
base of a lush tropical mountain. We began hosting language
programs in Guapinol in June of 2004 with 7 deaf participants,
and are continuing to find more deaf people in the area. The
programs have participants who are dedicated to learning despite
the ridicule and disdain from their community. We look forward
to seeing the stigma towards the deaf abolished in this community
as the deaf begin to embrace Hope & opportunity. |
