The article titled, “Signs of Love Makes New Leaders” is an article filled with a positive message about overcoming and empowering of the D/deaf, and educates the hearing community that the D/deaf have invaluable potential – that they can learn to communicate, read, and write, and that they have skills and abilities just like any hearing person. Dr. Francis Casale is also highlighted in the article, allowing Hondurans to see that Deaf people do not need to have limitations. Pastor Francis encouraged parents to be more involved with their deaf children.

of La Ceiba again on July 10, 2004.

| Signs
of Love publishes new dictionary for
the deaf. The ceremony was reported
by La Ceiba's local Prensa newspaper
with an article and pictures of the
dictionary cover, Robin Hanna, Jennifer
Miller and the Deaf leadership team
of Mario Antunez, Patricia de Antunez,
Rosa Nunez and Amanda Pineda along with
Dr Calix, a local doctor who helped
make this dictionary project a reality. |

| In La Ceiba, the Señas de Amor foundation is the name of a philanthropic organization dedicated to the outreach and education of deaf people. This project started in La Ceiba four years ago and has since continued to focus on teaching sign language in order to assist the hearing impaired to develop better communication skills. more » |
